Discover 5 easy tips to make Halloween a spooky & ecological party.

Share, upcycle and DIY

You don't have to buy a new costume every year to participate in Halloween. Dive into the costume box of friends and family and unwrap a different costume each year. The ideal way to wear a different outfit each year without spending.

Don't find anything at all? Then the creative ones can craft their own outfit together. Open up your closet and get to work with old fabrics, cardboard, a lick of paint here and there.... Before you know it, you've made your own outfit.

Vegan makeup

No Halloween without creepy makeup. When Halloween arrives, even our face transforms into a true horror figure.

Hereby a little reminder that makeup ingredients often contain traces of animal origin. On top of that, it often even contains harmful ingredients for the skin. Therefore, pay close attention in advance to which products you purchase.

Choose vegan and natural face paint. Be aware that we can also do our part in this way.

Trick or treat

While the adults celebrate together, children are going around the neighborhood collecting as much candy as possible at the doors.

In this, the candy we hand out is often wrapped in disposable plastic. Instead, candy wrapped in paper is a better option. Another alternative is to purchase candy in bulk without having it packaged separately.

Or better yet, you can also bake your own pastries and cookies. That way you avoid plastic packaging and it tastes all the more.

Child's love goes through the stomach, right?

Pumpkins, lots of pumpkins...

We use them as decoration but also as an activity with children to make creepy faces in them. Fun guaranteed.

Be sure not to throw away the contents of the pumpkins. Try to incorporate the pumpkin into dishes; make soup out of it or freeze the pumpkin flesh to eat later. That way we celebrate Halloween in a zero waste way and have fun with it too.

In addition, we also recommend purchasing pumpkins from local farmers or stores. The following year, you can then choose to use the pumpkin seeds to grow your own in the garden. Homegrown and homemade always tastes better.

Decorations

Bats, pumpkins, flags, food, lights, cobwebs.... the typicaldecorations for Halloween we bring into our homes to stay completely in theme. But have you thought about making your decorations yourself?

With paper, glue, cardboard, markersn, old garments you can very easily conjure themed objects.

Let your creativity run wild and just make your decorations yourself. The year after, just use them again. So be sure not to put them too far away.

Make it a frighteningly sustainable Halloween!
