Derma test

Derma test

"Dermatologically tested" often appears on the packaging of washing and cosmetic products. Our BRAUZZ. Laundry sheets (both scented and unscented) are also dermatologically tested and rated"excellent," the highest possible seal of approval.

But what exactly does that mean and why are these tests performed?

First, the most important thing: Who tests? It is important to note that "dermatologically tested" is not a strictly defined term. Any type of test performed under the supervision of a dermatologist can be considered a dermatological test. Thus, the term "dermatologically tested" says nothing about the testing method, the independence of the tester or even the result of the test.

So always make sure that products that are dermatologically tested have also obtained a certificate from an independent party. The BRAUZZ. Laundry sheets (both scented and unscented) have been tested at the 'Dermatest Institute'; an independent, internationally recognized testing and research institute based in Germany. When it comes to the safety of products for the skin, the Dermatest Institute is absolute world leader for testing and certification.

What is being tested?

The epicutaneous test (adhesive test) is part of the standard program of dermatology and DERMATEST testing. The adhesive test is used to test whether the product triggers a primary irritant effect or contact allergy in subjects with already sensitive skin.

The product is applied with small wipes at an appropriate concentration and stuck to the back with a patch and removed after about 2-3 days. Measurements are taken on the first day and subsequent days. A dermatological test is performed to determine if and what skin reactions have occurred as a result of contact with the product. A positive reaction to a correctly performed adhesive test is considered evidence of primary irritation by the test substance.

What does it mean when a product is certified by Dermatest?

The Dermatest certification helps us guarantee skin compatibility. For people with allergies or sensitive skin, our products are reliably approved so that their use is absolutely risk-free and harmless.

The derma test was done for both the fragrance-free Laundry sheets and those with a wonderful scent. Both also obtained the certificate. So now it is up to you to choose whether you go for the scented or unscented version.
